Marshfield girls notch their 10th win

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team hosted Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game on Feb. 11 where they got their 10th consecutive win.
Marshfield dominated the first half of the game, only allowing 16 points by Wausau East. The Tigers led at the half, 33-16.
The second half saw Wausau East outscoring the Tigers, 20-16, but the Tigers won the game 49-36.
Leading the game in scoring for the night was Wausau East’s Maddy Krueger with 15 points. Abby Thompson added 12 more for the Lumberjacks.
Marshfield’s top scorers were Kaydee Johnson and Desirae Weisenberger, who each had 11 points. Paige Preston added 10 of her own points.
Marshfield moved to 10-1 in the WVC and 13-5 overall. Wausau East fell to 0-10 in the conference and is 4-16 overall.
East will face SPASH on Feb. 14, in Stevens Point, and will host Wisconsin Rapids on Feb. 20.
Marshfield’s next game is at home against Wausau West on Feb. 14.
