Local schools compete in Cloverbelt Conference wrestling; N/G/L and S/C see five individual champions

MARSHFIELD — The Cloverbelt Conference wrestling tournament was held on Feb. 8 at the Stanley-Boyd High School.

Taking first in the conference was Cadott. Stanley-Boyd/Owen-Withee finished second, Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal (N/G/L) took third, Abby/Colby placed fourth, and Spencer/Columbus (S/C)  finished seventh.

Abby/Colby Individual Results 

Grady Steinman (106) did not place; Lucas Baumann (113) placed sixth; River Halopka (126) placed second; Jose Rodriguez (132) finished fourth; Talon Severson (145) took third; David Vicente (152) placed fourth; Joe Hawthorne (160) finished in fourth place; Brandon Vicente (170) took third; Andrew Jeske (182) placed fourth; Carter Grewe (195) second place; Devin Thums (220) finished fourth.

N/G/L Individual Results 

Three champions: Tommy Friemoth (160), Nathan Buchanan (182), and Gunner Hoffmann (220). Luke Dux (106), Jarick Young (113),  and Keeghan Anding  (132) all took second place. Taking third were Garrett Learman (138) and Carter Schoengarth (152). Finishing in fourth were: Dan Polzin (170) and Tucker Bethea (145). Joe Polzin (195) had a fifth-place finish.

S/C Individual Results 

Two champions: Ashton Ackman (113) and Treyton Ackman (120). Connor Luedtke (195) finished in fourth place. Also placing for the team were Leonardo Rodriguez (126), Carson Kilty (138), and Sawyer Kilty in fifth.

Treyton Ackman is a two-time conference champ and Ashton Ackman is a four time conference champ

All three wrestling teams will be participating at the WIAA Regionals on Feb. 15 held in Eau Claire at Regis High School.
