Greenwood bests Colby

MARSHFIELD – The Greenwood boys basketball got a home win after besting Colby on Feb.7.

Greenwood was down after the first half, 26-19, but a strong second-half performance propelled them to a victory over the Hornets, 67-61.

Colby was led by Harley Schmelzer, who scored 17 points. Brent Jeske added 14, and Roman Schmitt put up 10.

Cooper Bredlau was high for Greenwood, with 17, and Treyton Thomas and Westen Schmitz each had 16 on the night.

Greenwood improved their Cloverbelt conference record to 8-3, while Colby’s fell to 6-6.

Greenwood will face Spencer next on Feb. 11. Colby hosts Loyal on Feb. 11.
