Marshfield girls get ninth consecutive win

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield girls basketball took on D.C. Everest on Feb. 6 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference showdown. The Marshfield Tigers defeated the Evergreens at D.C. Everest High School and got their ninth consecutive win.
Marshfield had a 10-point lead going into the second half and although D.C. Everest stepped up their game in that half, they were unable to catch up to the Tigers. Marshfield won the contest, 50-39.
Maddie Michaelis led the Marshfield Tigers, scoring 17. Desirae Weisenberger added 12 of her own.
Kiarra Hammond was high for D.C. Everest, with 16 points. Hanna Stuedemann scored 15 for the Evergreens.
Marshfield remains at the top of the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a 9-1 record, 12-5 overall.
D.C. Everest’s record fell to 2-7 in conference action and 3-16 overall.
Up next for the Evergreens is SPASH, on Feb. 11, and Wisconsin Rapids on Feb. 14.
Marshfield will face Wausau East on Feb. 11 and Wausau West on Feb. 14.
