The Marawood Conference Wrestling tournament was held on Feb. 1 at Chequamegon High School, where the Stratford Tigers clinched their seventh-straight conference championship.

Stratford wrestlers not only finished at the top of the conference, they also had nine wrestlers take first in their weight brackets, three wrestlers took second, and one took home third.

“I couldn’t be more proud of these guys,” Stratford Head Coach Joe Schwabe said. “They had a great day; and we even left a couple matches out there (that we almost had).  Still, we can enjoy this but need to go back to work to prepare for a very tough Regionals in two weeks a Cadott.”

Max Schwabe of Stratford received the Most Valuable Wrestler award at the tournament; Schwabe is a four-time conference champion.

Auburndale finished fifth in the conference, with one first place winner.
