Marshfield girls continue win streak

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield girls basketball continues their winning streak to eight, after beating Merrill on Jan. 31 at home.
Marshfield had a small lead over the Merrill Bluejays at the half, 33-29. The Tigers were able to outscore Merrill again in the second half for a 71-61 win.
Leading Merrill in scoring was Courtney Krueger, with 26 points. Teammates Reese Mrachek and Ashley Prebeg each added 16 points for the Bluejays.
Marshfield was led in scoring by Maddie Michaelis, with 19 points. Danielle Minsass scored 14; Kaydee Johnson had 13 points; and Paige Preston added 12. Desirae Weisenberger had 11 of her own.
With the win, Marshfield sat at the top of the Wisconsin Valley Conference with an 8-1 record. Merrill’s record was 4-5.
