Auburndale loses to Edgar, remains in second

MARSHFIELD – The Auburndale Apaches girls basketball team hosted Marawood Conference rival, Edgar, on Jan. 30, and ended up losing to the Wildcats.
The game started with a close back and forth battle and the score was tied at 26 at the half. The second half stayed intense between the rivals but Edgar was able to squeeze ahead and take the win, 60-48.
Makenna Guden of Edgar topped the night, scoring over half of the Wildcats points with 36.
Auburndale was led by Natalie Aue, with 13 points, and Hailey Grimm with 11.
The loss kept Auburndale in second place in the conference with an 8-4 record; Edgar is tied for third with a 7-4 record.
Auburndale will host Pittsville in a nonconference game on Feb. 3; game time is 7:15 p.m.
