DQs lead to SPASH’s first loss of season to Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – SPASH hosted Marshfield for a Wisconsin Valley conference swim meet on Jan. 23, where Marshfield beat the undefeated Panther team. SPASH swimmers had two disqualifications at the beginning of the meet, due to equipment issues, that were against the rules.

Final score of the meet was Marshfield 90.5 and SPASH 74.5.

Results

200 Yard Medley Relay: 1, Marshfield – Kyle Berres, Myles Jensen, Sander Marty, and Ethan Dagit,  1:48.80; 2, Marshfield – Dane Tollefson, Jarreth Schaefer, Eli Splude, and Cole Hanson, 2:04.83; 3, Marshfield – Zackary Gunning, Michael Dick, Eben Lonsdale, and Brayden Fischer 2:10.79.
200 Yard Freestyle: 1, Myles Jensen,  Marshfield, 1:54.14; 2, Konnor Pilger, Stevens Point, 2:00.35.

200 Yard IM: 1, Eben Lonsdale, Marshfield, 2:34.71; 2, Graham Lonsdale, Marshfield, 2:41.86.

50 Yard Freestyle: 1, Marco Kurzynski, Stevens Point, 23.38; 2 Tie, Ethan Dagit.

100 Yard Butterfly: 1, Drew Harris, Stevens Point, 54.74; 2, Parker Soik, Stevens Point, 58.39.
100 Yard Freestyle: 1, Kyle Franz, Stevens Point, 51.67; 2, Marco Kurzynski, Stevens Point, 52.01.
500 Yard Freestyle: 1, Drew Harris, Stevens Point, 5:03.73; 2, Myles Jensen, Marshfield, 5:12.05.
Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay: 1 Stevens Point – Drew Harris, Konnor Pilger, Marco Kurzynski, and Kyle Franz,  1:32.95; 2, Marshfield – Jeffrey Berres, Kyle Berres, Connor Berres, and Cole Hanson, 1:45.03.

100 Yard Backstroke: 1, Konnor Pilger, Stevens Point, 1:01.08; 2, Kyle Berres, Marshfield, 1:01.86.
100 Yard Breaststroke: 1, Hugh Gundersen, Stevens Point, 1:10.00; 2, Sander Marty, Marshfield, 1:17.11.
400 Yard Freestyle Relay: 1, Marshfield – Jeffrey Berres, Sander Marty,  Myles Jensen and Ethan Dagit, Jr., 3:38.17; 2, Stevens Point – Konnor Pilger, Parker Soik, Samuel Gargulak, and Hugh Gundersen, :46.39.

SPASH’s record fell to 6-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and Marshfield’s improved to 4-3.

Marshfield will host Wausau East on Jan. 30 and SPASH will head to WIsconsin Rapids on Jan. 30 to finish out the regular season.
