Bakerville Sno Rover snowmobile trail to open

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wood County Snowmobile Trail maintained by the Bakerville Sno Rovers will open on Jan. 17 at 8a.m. Riders may encounter trail re-routes and rough, icy patches, and thin portions of trail in the fields.
“Please pay attention to signs and other trail markers and please use caution while crossing all bodies of water,” the Wood County Parks & Forestry Office said in a release.
All other snowmobile trails in Wood County will remain closed until further notice, but the department hopes to open others sometime next week.
“Our snowmobile clubs are working extra hard this year due to the July 2019 storm damage. They continue to work long hours clearing, marking, signing and securing permission for the trails you ride on. If you come across some ‘not so great’ trails do not detour outside of the trail markings to find snow for your skis,” the release stated.
Wood County snowmobile trails are subject to periodic and unexpected closures.
