Stratford wrestlers dominate Fred Lehrke Invitational

MARSHFIELD – Stratford wrestlers traveled to Rothschild to compete in the 64th annual Fred Lehrke Invitational and came home with the team title.
Stratford totaled 315 points to win the title. D.C. Everest took second, with 297. Auburndale finished seventh with, 121 points, and Spencer/Columbus Catholic took ninth, with 108.
Ten teams participated in the tournament.
Stratford wrestlers taking first place include Gavin Drexler (126 lbs.), Max Schwabe (138 lbs.), Devin Dennee (160 lbs.), and Trevor Dennee (186 lbs.).
Also placing for the Tigers were: Logan Gaulke (113 lbs.) in third place, Benno Wenzel (120 lbs.) took eighth, Ashtyn Kuehn (132 lbs.) finished in sixth, Gavin Kirsch (145 lbs.) took second, Jacob Heiden (152 lbs.) placed fifth, Hunter Ford (170 lbs.) took second, Raife Smart (195 lbs.) placed third, and Cole Marten (285 lbs.) placed fifth.
Auburndale wrestlers who placed include: Noah Altmann (120 lbs.) placing third, Hunter Godard (126 lbs.) took fourth, Dylan Baird (138 lbs.) finished third, and Brent Lau (145 lbs.) took fourth.
Spencer/Columbus wrestlers placing were Riley Smith (106 lbs.), finishing fourth, and Ashton Ackman (113 lbs.) at second.
