WOOD COUNTY – A logging truck and a garbage truck collided in Wood County on Jan. 7, closing State Highway 186 for several hours.

Wood County Dispatch received a phone call at 10:33 a.m. reporting an accident in the town of Hansen.

A log truck, driven by Jonathan Harnisch, of Menomonie, was traveling southbound on State Highway 186, when it collided with a garbage truck, driven by Ryan Leitner of Wisconsin Rapids, who was also traveling south bound.

No one was injured as a result of the accident; however, the highway was closed for several hours due to the nature of the vehicles involved.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Wood County Rescue, Wood County Highway Department, and the Vesper Fire Department.
