Greenwood girls win, boys lose in doubleheader

GREENWOOD – The Greenwood girls and boys basketball hosted the Athens teams in a double header on Dec. 27, with the girls winning and boys taking a loss.

The Greenwood girls faced Athens first and outscored the Blue Jays in the first half, 22-12. Athens then outscored Greenwood in the second half but came up short, giving the Greenwood girls their third win of the season at 41-36.

The Greenwood boys team took on Athens later that day and had a rough start, scoring just 15 in the first half to Athens 34 points. Greenwood fought back in the second half but ended up losing to Athens, 55-41.

Greenwood boys will travel to Abbotsford on Jan. 6. The girls play next on Jan. 3 at Columbus Catholic High School.
