Stratford boys win home tournament

MARSHFIELD – The Stratford boys defeated Wausau East and Altoona during their home basketball tournament held Dec. 27-28.

On Friday, Stratford took on Altoona. Stratford dominated the first half and went into the second half with a score of 41-34. The game ended with a final score of 87-64.

Chandler Schmidt scored high for the night with 25 points, followed by teammates Teddy Redman and Ben Barten had 14 points each.

On Saturday, Stratford faced Wausau East, defeating them 64-51.

Vaughn Breit was high scorer for the Tigers with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ben Barten added 17 points of his own, and Dawson Danen put up 11 more.

Stratford faces Auburndale next at home on Jan. 3. Both teams are currently undefeated in overall play.
