MARSHFIELD – Spring will bring the anticipated opening of a new Pizza Ranch on Marshfield’s north side; however, this Pizza Ranch won’t be your typical franchise.

Owners Neil & Sue Krogman say that the Marshfield Pizza Ranch will be slightly different than what you generally see around the Midwest.

“It’s new to Pizza Ranch; it was tested in some markets,” said Neil Krogman. “It kind of started in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at a location there, and it went over well and they started putting it in some other locations. It was really well received.

“Ashwaubenon opened one last year; that was the first one in the state that I know of. Then, La Crosse is going to open up one.”

While you will see the same menu items, the restaurant will feature an updated concept and an arcade zone and area for kids’ birthday parties.

“It’s just a good time. Kids like that stuff, and not just kids, teenagers,” Krogman added.

“(The area will offer) about 18 different games they can play. One of them is called ‘Connect Four.’ It’s a basketball shooting game. You shoot basketballs and try to play connect four.”

Krogman added that the arcade area will not operate on a ticket system, but an automated card system for redemption.

“You purchase points and you get tickets and it is all just on a card in the kiosk,” Krogman said. “You can keep the card. You don’t have to redeem the prize the first time you are here.”

The Pizza Ranch is currently under construction in the old Figi’s Outlet space at 1302 N. Central Ave., Marshfield.

The Krogmans will soon start hiring staff. For more information, visit pizzaranch.com.
