Marshfield boys top Merrill in tight game

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield hosted a very close Wisconsin Valley Conference game against the Merrill Blue Jays on Dec. 20.
In a very tight first half, Marshfield led Merrill by just one point – 30-29 – at halftime.
A 60-60 final, led the game into overtime, where the Tigers outscored Merrill 9-8, winning the contest at 68-67.

Addison Hill was high for Marshfield, with 17 points and six rebounds; his teammate, Anthony Posteluk put up 15 points of his own.
Michael Casper of Merrill finished the night with 27 points.
The Marshfield Tigers will play again Dec. 27-28, at the Ab Nicholas Tournament held at Waunakee High School.
