Marshfield wrestling wins home dual over Merrill

MARSHFIELD – Down 28-27, the Marshfield High School wrestling team got victories in the final three weight classes to claim a dual meet victory at home over Merrill on Dec. 19.

Logan Cournoyer received a forfeit at 113 pounds to put the Tigers ahead 33-28, Shane Westerhausen (120) won by pin in 3:18, and Keagan Cliver (126) won 6-2 to close out a 42-28 victory over Merrill.

Marshfield freshman, Hoyt Blaskowski, took on Tristan Brewington of Merrill on Dec. 19. Blaskowski won the 132 pound weight class match by technical fall, 16-1. HCT staff photo.

Hoyt Blaskowski (132) won by technical fall 16-1 in 4:07, Brett Franklin (138) won by a 14-4 major decision, Ryan Dolezal (145) won by pin in 1:40, Garrett Willuweit (152) won by pin in 1:29 and Cody Weix (160) won by pin in 3:02, as Marshfield got out to a 27-0, before Merrill won the next five matches to take a 28-27 lead.
