Staab sentenced in death of Spencer man

MARSHFIELD – A Marshfield woman accused of supplying drugs in the 2017 overdose death of a Spencer man will spend over a decade in prison.
Cassandra Staab, 29, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for supplying the fentanyl-laced heroin to 22-year-old Thomas Bychinski that led to his death. Staab was convicted on four counts, including first-degree reckless homicide. Staab will also serve 13 years on extended supervision.
Along with her sentence, Staab is ordered to write a letter to Bychinski’s father within 30 days. She must also maintain absolute sobriety.
