Bomb threat sends MHS students home

MARSHFIELD – On the same day district officials were offering an informational forum on the topic, another bomb threat was found at Marshfield High School (MHS), which led to the early dismissal of students.
Afternoon classes were cancelled and students were released at 11:30 this morning, after another bomb threat was discovered written on a bathroom stall.
The early release effected MHS students only, and classes remained in session at all other district schools. Officials also said they have no reason to believe the latest threat is credible, but out of extreme precaution, the decision was made to empty the school.
Marshfield police responded to the school campus to assist with the early release, and are planning an increased presence tomorrow and Thursday, in the wake of two other bomb threats earlier this month – one referencing Dec. 18 and the other mentioning Dec. 19.
