Geneva Kolstad

Geneva (Jen) Cecilia (Kaas) Kolstad, 92, of Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the House of the Dove.

Geneva was born October 8, 1927 in Marshfield, the daughter of Roman and Laura (Diers) Kaas.

Geneva was a member of the graduating class of 1945 from Marshfield Senior High School.  In August of 1950 she was married to Harvey Kolstad and they later divorced.  She spent most of her life as a homemaker and bookkeeper for their business, Kolstad Construction.  After their divorce she went to work for Weyerhauser in Marshfield and worked there for 14 years, retiring in April 1991.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Larry) Pribbernow; three sons, Timothy (Candace) Kolstad, James (Lori) Kolstad and Kevin Kolstad; her grandchildren, Ryan (Heidi Gonering)Pribbernow, Brooke (Pat) Krause, Chris (Ann) Kolstad, Kari (Chris) Oertel, Erik (Katie Wynia) Kolstad, and Dan (Rachel) Kolstad; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is furthered survived by a sister, Marion Hartnett; brother-in-law, Gerald Niehaus; and sister-in-law, Shirley (Daniels) Kaas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Laura Kaas; brothers Jerome Kaas, Clarence Kaas, and Elmer Kaas; sisters Josephine Johnson and Laura Niehaus, and half-sister Andrella (Gleischner) Moore.

A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, on Friday, December 20, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be no formal funeral service.

In lieu of flowers we ask that any memorials be given to House of the Dove, Marshfield, Wisconsin.
