Marshfield wrestling falls to SPASH in season opener

MARSHFIELD –  The Marshfield wrestling team opened the 2019-20 season with a 36-26 loss at home to Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH).

Shane Westerhausen (120 pounds) won by pin in 25 seconds, Keagan Cliver (126) won 4-3, Gabe Pugh (138) won 6-4, Ryan Dolezal (145) won by a 20-9 major decision, Garrett Willuweit (152) won by pin in 5:59, and Cody Weix (160) won by an 8-0 major decision to build a 26-12 lead.

However, SPASH followed with a 16-13 win at 170, a pin in 3:55 at 182, and a 7-0 win at 195 to pull within 26-24, and then recorded forfeit victories at 220 and 285 to provide the final margin.
