The Pittsville boys basketball team got out to a 20-point lead in the first half, on the way to a win in its season opener at Gresham on Dec. 3.

The Panthers went into halftime with a 37-17 lead, and outscored Gresham 39-35 in the second half to win 76-52.

Senior forward Matthew Kissner poured in 34 points to lead Pittsville, as he shot 3-for-4 from three-point range and finished with 12 rebounds and four steals.

Sophomore guard Jordan Denniston also had 18 points and four steals for the Panthers, and senior forward Landyn Wayerski was 5-of-5 from the field and totaled 11 points and seven rebounds.

Pittsville is scheduled to open the Central Wisconsin Conference-South season at home against Tri-County on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
