Friends honor Marshfield Veteran of the Year

MARSHFIELD – Friends recently gathered to recognize Gary Cummings, of Marshfield, who was recently named the 2019 Veteran of the Year by the Marshfield Veterans Council.
Cummings served in the U.S. Army, 1969-70, and was deployed to Korea; there, Cummings served on the DMZ, or demilitarized zone, earning the rank of specialist fourth class.
As a member of VFW Post No. 1866, American Legion Post No. 54, and the Disabled American Veterans, Cummings has held several leadership positions. He currently serves on the American Legion Color Guard.

Cummings and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1971 and have three children – Garrison, Michelle and Aaron – as well as six grandchildren.
