MARSHFIELD – The UWSP at Marshfield Marauders came out shooting and didn’t miss, in their first home game on Nov. 16 against the UW-Platteville Richland Roadrunners.
Matthew Roth (Colby) started the shooting with three early three-pointers. Joey Miller (Columbus Catholic) and Colton Wright (Auburndale) followed up with a three of their own.
Pairing that with some solid defense and fast break baskets by Ethan Posteluk (Marshfield), the lead was over 20 before the Roadrunners knew what hit them.
After the quick surge from the three point line, the Marauders started attacking inside where Joe Fields (Obama SCTE) started to take over the game. Basket after basket, rebound after rebound, he started wearing down the interior defense from Richland.
The Marauders finished with a 98-60 win.
