PEO hosts 40th annual boutique
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – The 40th P.E.O. Boutique will be held Nov. 23, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 750 S. Central Avenue, Marshfield.
The Marshfield and Neillsville P.E.O. chapters are hosting this time-honored tradition which features a book sale; cookie walk, beginning at 10:30 a.m.; craft sale; and high-quality artisan’s bazaar.
The P.E.O. supports women “both through friendships and the bonds of sisterhood and through educational scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and the stewardship of Cottey College to help women enhance their lives through learning.” The proceeds of the boutique are shared among the chapters for their P.E.O. scholarships and community work.
New to boutique this year are the creative and delightful snowmen from local artisan Deb Peterson. She handcrafts her snowmen with tea-stained chenille bedspread, muslin, or batting bodies.
Other crafts featured this year range from decorative pillows to handmade soaps; willow and birch baskets to ceramic and glass pieces; fresh greenery items to landscape photography; watercolor and acrylic paintings to original children’s books; and handcrafted pens, pillows, jewelry, quilted and crocheted items to cheese and handmade candies.
