NEW LONDON – Bill Gebert has been elected to the board of directors for First State Bank and Pioneer Bank, held under the parent company of First State Bancshares, Inc.
Gebert is operations manager for Schill Trucking in Arpin. He was the board chair for Pioneer Bank prior to the bank’s acquisition earlier this month and had served on its board since 2006.
“As a life-long resident of north central Wisconsin, Bill brings valuable knowledge of the region to our Boards,” stated First State Bank President and CEO, Bob Van Asten. “This representation is extremely helpful to our ability to make local decisions and serve our customers and communities as an independent community bank.”
Pioneer Bank will merge with First State Bank in late February 2020.
First State Bank was established in 1933. When the merger is complete, First State Bank will have total assets of approximately $450 million and 13 offices located in Auburndale, Cecil, Clintonville, Greenwood, New London, Manawa, Marshfield, Rozellville, Rudolph, Stevens Point, Waupaca, Wisconsin Rapids, and Withee.
