Stratford crushes Spooner

STRATFORD – The Stratford football team pushed onward, as they continued holding their opponents scoreless, while crushing Spooner in a Division 5, Level 1 playoff game on Oct. 25 in Stratford.
A Teddy Redman touchdown run in the first quarter started off scoring; that was followed up by a 67-yard touchdown run by Chase Flink and a Max Schwabe pass to Justin Radke, to end the first quarter at 21-0.
Another onslaught in the second quarter brought an added 29 points, with a Schwabe-Redman touchdown pass, a Chandler Schmidt touchdown run, a Redman touchdown run, and a Schwabe pass to Vaughn Breit, giving the Tigers a 50-0 lead at halftime.
The second half of the game resulted in two more touchdown runs for Stratford – one from Matt Handrick and the other by Kainoa Gouveia – while Spooner remained scoreless.
The Tigers will face Spencer/Columbus on Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., as the Rockets return to Stratford where they began their season.
