Pittsville volleyball moves on in Division 4

PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville Panthers will move on in Division 4 volleyball, after edging out Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in regional competition on Oct. 22 in Pittsville.

The Panthers won with games of 25-17, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-20, for a 3-1 final.

“We were really sluggish all night, but we found a way to finish,” said Coach Buff Heller. “Hopefully, we gain some confidence going to Round 2.

Julia Redmond led Pittsville in kills, with 16, while Maddie Carpenter led in aces, with six. Helen Durrant had 30 assists to lead the Panthers. Josie Buchli had 25 digs, while Julia Redmond had 24.

Pittsville will now head to Wausau on Oct. 24 to face Newman Catholic.
