MARSHFIELD – On Oct. 21, the Marshfield Common Council selected Adam Fischer to serve the city’s District 7, filling the seat vacated by Jason Zaleski in September.
Fischer has served on the Wood County Board of Supervisors since 2016 and says he has a commitment to public service.
“I’ve always had a passion for local government,” he told the board. “In 2016, I actually filled Pete Hendler’s vacant spot on the county board, and that started my love of local government.
“Even as a young person in school, college, I always had a passion for this. I believe in public service. I believe in people rising up, and I wanted to do that.”
The council voted 7-2 in favor of Fischer, over Ardell Klein, the only other interested candidate.
Fischer will take his seat on the common council next month.
