Get Fired Up for Safety rescheduled for Oct. 20

MARSHFIELD – Due to this past weekend’s rain and snow, “Get Fired Up For Safety” has been rescheduled for Oct. 20.
Volunteer and professional firefighters from surrounding communities join Marshfield firefighters on the city’s north side to provide safety demonstrations and displays for families.
The annual event begins at noon with a parade of emergency vehicles starting at the fairgrounds, proceeding west on 14th street, and continuing north on Central Avenue.
Get Fired Up For Safety displays will be set up in the parking lots of the following businesses: Century 21 Gold Key Realty, Culver’s, Rose Bowl Lanes, House of Heating, Gross Motors, Pioneer Bank, Office Max, and Festival Foods.
Participating fire departments include Arpin, Auburndale, Cameron, Granton, Hatfield, Hewitt, Lincoln, Junction City, Marshfield, McMillan, Pittsville, Richfield, Rock, Spencer, Stratford, and Vesper. Other participants include Batteries Plus, the DNR, Life Link, Marshfield Children’s Hospital, Mid-State Technical College-Wisconsin Rapids, Pioneer Bank, and Wood County Dispatch.
