Bertha I. Drackley
Bertha I. Drackley, 78, Town of Richfield, died on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 23rd at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville, Rev. Gary Markworth officiating. Burial will take place in the Town of Richfield Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Sebastian, Nathan Drackley, Johnathan Drackley, Roger Christiansen, Dylan Schoenfeld, and Lee Standridge. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 until time of service.
Bertha was born August 14, 1941 to Otto Sr. and Mary L. (Kreitlow) Grubofski. She married Richard Lee Drackley on November 7, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 7, 2013.
Bertha enjoyed gardening. She grew lots of vegetables, especially her potatoes; she could never eat enough potatoes. She would take her produce and sell it at the farmer’s market in the parking lot of Festival Foods. She had a love for Flowers, especially roses. She took great pride in tending to her roses, along with lilac bushes, a large selection of peonies and her raspberry plants. She is a member of St. John’s Lutheran church.
She is survived by her children: Betsy (Gerald) Sebastian of Unity, Bernie (Audra) Drackley of Pittsville, Beverly (Gary Schoenfeld) Walker of Wisconsin Rapids, Bonnie (Kevin Meyer) Drackley of Marshfield and Brian Drackley of Marshfield. She is also survived by 2 step-daughters, 8 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Carl Grubofski of Elgin, IL, Fred Grubofski of Pittsville, Richard Grubofski of Marshfield, Otto (Mary) Grubofski of Wisconsin Rapids, Larry Grubofski of Wisconsin Rapids, Johnny Grubofski of Pittsville, Susie Sladek of Madison, Ida Flewellen of Marshfield, and Laura (Dexter) Brue of Loyal.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lee Drackley, three brothers: Otto Jr., Clarence, and Wallace Grubofski; a son-in-law Brian Walker; and two brothers-in-law Leo Flewellen and Donald Sladek.
