MARSHFIELD – The 29th Marshfield Area CROP Walk against hunger will be held Sept. 29

The walk starts at Wildwood Park Shelter No. 1. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.; send-off program is at 1 p.m., with the walk at 1:15 p.m.  There are six-, three-, and one-mile routes.

The sponsor, Church World Service (CWS), works with local people to develop water supplies, more efficient ways of farming, and other ways of meeting basic needs as well as providing emergency food.

Twenty-five percent of CROP Walk funds aid local food pantries.  Local funds go to Soup or Socks.  Twenty-five percent of donations from Stratford churches go to the Stratford Pantry.

Participants are asked to bring their own water bottles, though water will be available. Everyone is welcome to walk; individuals under 18 will need a parent’s permission.

Contributions may be sent to Treasurer Carmen Lawler, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Lincoln, Marshfield, WI, 54449, or posted online on the Church World Service website.

For more information, call Janet Wolfe at 715-486-9307 or email [email protected].
