Columbus soccer holds Newman to one

MARSHFIELD – The Columbus soccer team beat Newman Catholic, 6-1, in a home game on Sept. 19.
Tom Nystrom scored at 1:32, assisted by Kellen Delaney; 17 seconds later Dylan Porter added another goal, assisted by Delaney.
At 2:17 Delaney scored a goal of her own, and added another off a penalty kick at 55:15.
Newman finally got on the board at 56:13, when Matt Hamilton grabbed a goal.
At 67:50, Kellen Delaney drove in another goal, assisted by Afton Delaney.
At 71:43 Porter grabbed the Dons’ final goal, with Tyler Linzmeier assisting.
The next Columbus soccer game is Sept. 23 against Tri-County at home. Their overall record now stands at 7-1-3, 5-0-1 in conference.
