Letter from the Publisher: Gratitude on Labor Day

Dear reader,

Today is Labor Day, the day when we celebrate American workers and the progress we have achieved for our nation.

There have been many conflicts over the years that have helped shape our country in its current situation, and helped set an example for the rest of the world. Our nation ended child labor, established the eight-hour work day, secured unemployment insurance for out-of-work individuals, and provided compensation and treatment for workers injured on the job. We can all agree that these are necessary protections that make our nation more humane and civilized.

So, while you are grilling out or relaxing on a boat, give thanks for the people who worked so hard for our protections.
