Nekoosa wins quad with Pittsville, Assumption, and Port Edwards

NEKOOSA – The Nekoosa girls volleyball team took the top spot in a varsity quad meet with Pittsville, Assumption, and Port Edwards; held Aug. 27 at Nekoosa High School.

The Papermakers went 3-0, beating Pittsville, 25-19, 25-10; Assumption, 25-21, 25-21; and Port Edwards, 25-12, 25-10.

Robin Anderson had 13 kills and Amanda Schafbauer had 10. Emma Seipel had 28 Assists. Nekoosa had 20 aces for the tournament.

Pittsville lost to Nekoosa 0-2, Port Edwards 1-2, and Assumption 0-2, for a 0-3 final.

“We struggled on our own side of the net,” said Pittsville Coach Buff Heller. “When we cleaned up our unforced errors and missed serves, we looked ok. We will work hard to fix what we can control.”

Cammie Reno had eight kills, while Maddie Carpenter had seven. Madisyn Schooley had five aces and Kersten Hoenninger had four. Helen Durrant led in assists with 15, while Mikayla Bowden had nine.

Stats for Assumption and Port Edwards were not available.
