WOOD COUNTY – The driver of a tractor has sustained significant injuries after being struck from behind.

On Aug. 20 at around 12:30 p.m., the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was called to the scene of a truck versus tractor crash in the town of Arpin.

Officials say a farm tractor was headed northbound on County Highway K when it was struck from the behind by a truck. The operator of the tractor was ejected and was pinned under the truck.

The tractor operator sustained significant injuries and was airlifted by Life Link III. The truck operator sustained minor injuries and was treated and released.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Marshfield Police Department, Arpin Fire Department, Pittsville Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Wood County Highway Department.

Names of the parties involved are not being released at this time. The crash is still under investigation.
