Marshfield Fire & Rescue responds to fire at Masonite

MARSHFIELD – On Aug. 20 at 12:28 a.m., the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department responded to a call at Masonite, 218 S. Palmetto Ave., Marshfield.
Upon arrival, crews discovered smoke coming from a wood collection system. The department found the fire difficult to access due to the fire’s location, but crews were able to extinguish the fire in about two hours.
The department was assisted by the Spencer Fire Department and Ambulance Service and the Hewitt Area Volunteer Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and Masonite staff was able to return to the building by about 4:30 a.m.
