Mayor to host local television/online show about Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield Mayor Bob McManus will host a locally-produced television/online show that debuts Aug. 13.
“Experience Marshfield” spotlights local businesses and their owners, as well as paths to success and services they offer. The show will also highlight “exciting places and spaces in Marshfield.”
“The show came from a meeting we had a few months ago with area leaders from MACCI, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Marshfield Utility, Main Street, Economic Development Board, and members of the public,” McManus said. “As the discussion progressed it was clear that many people really enjoy the experience they have in Marshfield. Whether it is education, job, great atmosphere, family and kid friendly, there is a certain draw to Marshfield. So the Show ‘Experience Marshfield’ was really born out of that meeting.”
The show is produced by Marshfield Media Access, a division of the City of Marshfield’s Communications Department. The first show highlights the Wenzel Family Plaza and will debut on Aug. 13 at 11:30 a.m., on Charter Cable Channel 989. The program will be available online at www.ci.marshfield.wi.us, after the TV airing, as well as the mayor’s Facebook pages. The show also replays on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. on cable television.
A new episode will broadcast every Tuesday.
“I believe that this is a great communication tool,” McManus added. “Not only do we get to hear about a person, or business, but the background and inspiration these folks have is incredible. I also believe, the more we know about each other, the tighter the community bonds.
