Marshfield Fastpitch 14U takes second in nationals

ROCHESTER, MN – Marshfield Fastpitch 14U Black went 9-2 at a national competition in Rochester, MN, July 27-28, finishing in second place.
The team secured a No. 1 seed and started bracket play by beating 612 softball out of Minneapolis and then the Plover 14 Nationals, before losing their first game to the Plover 13 Nationals.
Marshfield then took three games in a row, beating River City Rage from La Crosse, Falls Angels from Menomonee Falls, and Vernon Hills Vipors from Illinois, to make it to Sunday competition.
After taking Pekin Power from Illinois, on Sunday, Marshfield came back to beat the Plover 13 Nationals, 4-0.
Marshfield fell short in the championship game, losing to Metro Select from Sioux Falls, SD, taking the runner-up spot.
