Darrel R. Wejner

Age 64, of Spencer, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 28, 2019.

Per Darrel’s wishes, the family will not be having a public service, but will be scattering his ashes at a later date.

Darrel was born on August 6, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ray Wejner and Darlene (Steidle) Straman. He graduated from Cameron Elementary School in Chicago and attended Ore High School. Darrel worked in the warehouse at Bantam Books in Des Plaines, Illinois for 20 years as well as Fleming Company in Marshfield and most recently he worked as a custodian at Spencer School District. He was united at heart to Rosalie Auman, his life partner of 33 years.

His greatest enjoyment was “railroading” as he had an extreme love of anything about trains. He used to go with his dad to see many different types of trains and knew how they all worked like the back of his hand. He was also a keen fisherman, enjoyed photography and videography, loved to read all newspapers and magazines, was a kind spirit and loved to enjoy good conversation with family and friends.

Darrel is survived by his life partner Rosalie Auman; his siblings Linda “Sis” Cinelli of McHenry, IL and Craig (Angela) Wejner of Oswego, IL; his nieces and nephews Jason Jensen, Suzanne Jensen-Aschenbrener, Sherri (James) Dalgaard, Alexandra Wejner and Amanda Wejner; many great-nieces and nephews; his brothers and sisters-in-heart Mary Ann Lesar of Loyal, Bernice LaMarr of Neillsville, Nancy Auman of Racine, Jerry (Marilyn) Auman of Willard, Linda (Danny Schumacher) Villapando of Spencer, Elaine (Bob) Langreck of Spencer, Angie (Sam Landers) Auman of Waukesha, Debbie Auman of Genesee and David Auman of Willard.

He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his father Ray; his father’s lady friend Wilma Morris; his mother Darlene; his stepfather Dave Straman; many aunts and uncles; brother-in-law Mike Cinelli; cousin Sandy Nunoz and brother-in-heart Bob Auman.

A special thank you goes out to everyone that stopped in to visit him and gave him cards and condolences.

Our deepest gratitude to the staff at Ministry Home Care Hospice; especially Wanda and Donna Z. for being there for Darrel in his final days.

“Please remember me as you knew me.” – Darrel Wejner

My sweet baby, until we meet again. Rest in Peace. Love, Rose

Darrel’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer. Please visit www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com to share thoughts and condolences.
