Lawrence was born on May 10, 1932, the son of John and Olivia (Decker) Pinter, in Abbotsford. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1950. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army in 1952 – 1954 and was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. Lawrence married Barbara Kohn on April 16, 1955 in Medford, WI. Lawrence and Barbara farmed in Neillsville and later moved to a farm in the Town of Holton. There they farmed for 30 years. After farming, Lawrence drove semi-truck for 15 years before retiring.  “You can take the men off the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the men.”  Even after selling the farm, he enjoyed helping his sons with field work.

Lawrence had a heart of gold, always joking and had a big laugh.  He loved  his family and smiled whenever his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were around him. Grandpa will be missed.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 64 wonderful years, Barbara; six children: Cindy (Mark) Mabry, Jeff (Jill) Pinter, Greg (Barb) Pinter, Rodney Pinter, Brad (Susan Abel) Pinter, and Jody (Greg) Bleck; 12 grandchildren: Justin, Joni, Jade, Claire, Catherine, Anthony, Nicole, Cory, Kelsey, Haley, Ben, and Olivia and 8 great-grandchildren.
