STEVENS POINT – Less than 24 hours after a dramatic extra-inning win, the season came to an end June 23 for the Marshfield American Legion Blue Devils baseball team. Post 54 lost its Triple-A Regional Tournament semi-final contest to Stevens Point 8-0, at Bukolt Park.

The Post 6 Sixers dominated from start to finish. Point starting pitcher, J.D. Schultz and reliever, Brady Franz tossed a combined three-hit shutout. Schultz walked just two and struck out nine in five innings to get the win. Stevens Point outhit Marshfield 15-3.

The Sixers scored once in the second inning, once more in the third, twice in the fourth, and four times in the fifth. Marshfield starter Preston Wagner surrendered four runs on nine hits while walking three and striking out two. Ty Pankratz gave up five hits and four runs to the 10 batters he faced. Logan Schreiner gave up one hit in an inning-and-a-third.
