Caroline C. Kopf

Caroline C. Kopf, 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 am until service time. Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women will recite the rosary at 10:15 am at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. 

Caroline was born on February 20, 1919 in Marshfield, to Anton and Mary (Hoffman) Kiesling and was a 1937 graduate of McKinley High School, Marshfield. She married Herman Eckes in 1941 and they later divorced. She then married Ervin Kopf on February 11, 1966. He died on May 31, 1998. 

Caroline had been employed at the Marshfield Clinic for over 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, reading, word puzzles, TV game shows, trips to the casino and scratch off tickets. She was a member of Sacred Heart P.C.C.W. and Christian Mother’s, the Royal Neighbors of America, past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lady Knights. 

Caroline was proud to have lived independently in her own apartment until June. 

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Majerus of Marshfield, a stepson, John Kopf of Chippewa Falls, 3 grandsons, 8 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ervin, a son-in-law, David Majerus, a stepson, Tom Kopf, a stepdaughter, Carole Bradley, 4 brothers and 6 sisters. 

Caroline wanted to say “Thank you to all who have been my friends over the years. God bless you all.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hannah Center, Children’s Miracle Network, both in Marshfield, Marshfield Clinic Research or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
