Walter F. Bernt, age 64, of Abbotsford, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan.  Rev. Frank Giebel will officiate.  Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Walter was born October 7, 1954, the son of Herbert and Marie (Held) Bernt in Wausau.  He graduated from Abbotsford High School.  Walter was a self-employed carpenter for many years and  worked at Marathon Cheese for 15 years.  He enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, fishing, outdoors and bird watching.  Walter especially enjoyed his grandchildren.  He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Walter is survived by his three children:  Joshua (Erin) Bernt of Abbotsford, Nicole Bernt of Withee and Deven Bernt of Colby; two grandchildren: Graecyn and Croix.  He is further survived by his brother, Helmut (Janet) Bernt of Abbotsford and his sister, Brigitte (Virgil) Underwood of Athens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
