For the Hub City Times

MARSHFIELD – Twenty-one teams created a successful fundraiser for the 11th Annual “Striking Out Domestic Violence” bowling fundraiser, held at Rose Bowl Lanes on April 28.

The event raised $44,000 for Shirley’s House of Hope, a faith based domestic violence and drug addiction shelter in Marshfield.

The money raised is used to provide basic services, such as emergency shelter and a healing program services.  The organization receives no government funding and 87 percent of all donations provide direct services. Over 430 women and children have been provided shelter since its opening in October 2010.
