Marshfield boys tennis gets by Rapids, East

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield boys tennis grabbed a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet May 6 at the Boson Tennis Complex in Marshfield.
In No. 1 singles competition, Rapids’ Harrison Sullivan beat Sam Haessly 6-0, 6-1. In No. 2 singles, Marshfield’s Calvin Lawler took Caleb Sorenson 6-0, 6-1. In No. 3 competition, Marshfield’s Ryan Paulman beat Tristan Lake-Martinez 6-0, 6-1; and in No. 4 singles Marshfield’s Eli Swansen took Evan Dewitt 6-1, 6-1.
The No. 1 doubles team of Marshfield’s Jared Cordova and Will Fay beat Rapids’ Jared Winters and Isaac Everson 6-0, 6-0. The No. 2 doubles team consisting of Marshfield’s Lucas Paulman and Sam Roherty took Justin Gray and Cooper Christensen of Rapids 6-0, 6-0. The No. 3 Rapids doubles team of Joey Bohman and Eric Huglen beat Marshfield’s Josh Grissman and Justine Rachu 6-4, 7-5.
Marshfield then beat Wausau East 4-3 on May 7 in Marshfield, with the team sweeping all doubles matches and Ryan Paulman securing the lone singles win.
