Work to resume on Upham Street May 13
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD – The city of Marshfield will resume work on Upham Street between Chestnut Avenue and Oak Avenue.
Last summer, the city began work on an asphalt overlay project on Upham Street. The project was suspended as not to interfere with the start of school. With the limited window between the end of the regular school year and the start of summer school, the city plans to complete the overlay project before summer school begins. As a result, work on the overlay project is scheduled to resume on May 13, with completion anticipated by May 31.
Similar to last year’s work, traffic will be limited to one-way westbound for the duration of the project. Access to businesses and driveways will be maintained to the fullest extent practical.
Work will consist of milling of the existing roadway, crack and joint repair, paving of a new asphalt surface, and painting new pavement markings. Work will be completed one-half at a time in order to maintain one-way westbound traffic.
