For the Hub City Times
STEVENS POINT – The Central Wisconsin Racing Association (CWRA) Stars to Legends Tour and the Marshfield Motor Speedway kicked off their race seasons May 4.
CWRA has scheduled an 11-race schedule at four different racetracks for the 2019 racing season. Events will be contested at Marshfield Motor Speedway, Marshfield; Golden Sands Speedway, Plover; Dells Raceway Park, Wisconsin Dells; and the State Park Speedway, Wausau. All are paved short track ovals that will feature Late Model racing.
The Marshfield track is the longest on the circuit and features tight, side-by-side racing.
Following the Marshfield opener, a May 17 CWRA event will take place at Golden Sands Speedway.
The circuit returns to Marshfield on June 1, with a “Salute to America.” Marshfield Motor Speedway will host the tour once again on Aug. 17.
The CWRA Stars to Legends Tour features a unique format in that it holds group qualifying similar to what is done in NASCAR to determine starting line ups.
