MARSHFIELD – It’ll be a special joint meeting on April 25 when the Marshfield Common Council meets with some of the city’s major economic organizations and stakeholders; and Mayor Bob McManus says they’ll be coming together to ‘brainstorm’ about Marshfield’s economic development and future growth.
According to McManus, “The meeting is with the Common Council, the (Economic Development Board), MACCI, Marshfield Utilities, the (Convention & Visitors Bureau). We’re going to have a representative from the hospital there as well as from Main Street Marshfield.”
McManus says he’d like to see more of the joint meetings. “It’s going to be a good start to a lot of meetings that are taking place, and we’ll be going over the future vision of the city.”
Possible topics on the agenda could include continued development to the downtown, improved housing options, workforce development, and improved recreational opportunities to attract and retain those workers.
The meeting gets underway April 25 at 5:30 p.m. at Marshfield’s 2nd Street Community Center.
