Tiger golf tees off for season

MARSHFIELD – Despite the cool and damp weather, the Marshfield Tigers golf team has teed off for its 2019 season. The boys team finished in fifth place among a dozen Division 1 schools at the two-day Wisconsin Dells Invitational April 5-6. The 12 teams played nine holes during the first day of competition and 18 holes for the final round.
Marshfield had a two-day total of 497. Three Tiger golfers competed in both rounds, led by Nate Boson, who had a two-day total of 124. He shot a 42 on day one at the Trappers Turn Golf Club and an 82 on the second day at the Coldwater Canyon Golf Course at Chula Vista. Ben Baur also scored a 42 on day one. He added an 86 for the second round, giving him a two-day total of 128. Cole Hanson also shot a 42 on day one. Hanson then shot a 98 on day two, for a tournament score of 140.
Four other Tiger golfers competed. Josh Gruen and Jeffrey Berres had rounds of 43 and 47 on the first day, while Jackson Bulgrin and Davis Rens added rounds of 79 and 81 on day two.
