Spencer library to host human trafficking presentation

WAUSAU – Marathon County Public Library will offer the presentation “Myths and Truths: Human Trafficking in Central Wisconsin” on April 11 from 6-7 p.m. at the library’s Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer.
Officer Sarah D’Acquisto, Wausau Police Department, and Brenda Bayer, advocate for The Women’s Community, will give an informative presentation on the myths and trends of human trafficking. Sarah and Brenda will cover what human trafficking looks like in central Wisconsin, the myriad of motivations behind trafficking, how social media plays a role in recruitment, red flags, and other topics. The content of this presentation is mature and is intended for teens, young adults, and adults.
